Council Grants Programs

What do you want for Wakefield? Our community grants provide funding for innovative projects and activities that foster community development in the areas of arts and culture, community participation or recreation.

Community Benefit Grant Program 

The Community Benefit Grant Program will provide funding for up to $5,000 for equipment, materials or resources where applicants can demonstrate that the goods will support the delivery of services or programs within the Wakefield Regional Council area.

Community Water Scheme Grant Program 

The Community Water Scheme Grant Program will provide funding for up to $2,500 for watering of grassed playing surfaces (bowling greens, ovals etc.) and up to $5,000 for water expenses for the Balaklava, Owen and Hamley Bridge swimming pools.

Community Infrastructure Grant Program
Up to $25,000 can be sourced for the planning, development and maintenance of community infrastructure facilities that meet the current and future needs of the Wakefield Regional Council community.

Wakefield Regional Council 2018 Grant Winners Announced

 

Drought Communities Programme

The Council has applied for the maximum $1million in grant funding through the Australian Government's Drought Communities Programme, which supports communities impacted by drought by funding local community infrastructure and other drought relief projects. 

Five applications(188 kb) were submitted, which together comprise 24 exciting community projects and initiatives. The five projects are:

  1. Sustainable Region
  2. Community Wellbeing
  3. Road Access Improvements for Farm Machinery and Heavy Vehicles
  4. Heart of the Community
  5. DCP Project Manager

All projects must be completed by 30 June 2019.

Breaking News! Wakefield Regional Council has been successful in receiving funding for three of the five projects it applied for.
